Our Story

We’re Bill, Eltiena and Mike - three Americans living in Holland. We created Wholeshroome to offer an alternative to the mass-produced, Chinese-grown mushroom supplements that dominate the market back home in America - many of which require a warning label for metals like lead.

Over a 5-year development journey, we’ve been personally involved every step of the way - from farm to capsule – to ensure our products would be the cleanest, most effective and earth-friendly as possible.

The result is a line of organic, European-grown mushroom based ‘whole food supplements’ that are amongst the purest you can find in the world.

Wholesomely grown in Holland

Unlike other supplement makers who use whole fruiting bodies, we made a deliberate decision NOT to source our mushrooms from China, instead growing them here in the Netherlands. It’s more expensive to do things this way, but we think it’s worth it. Here’s why….

Every day, a billion Dutch mushrooms are consumed worldwide, making the Netherlands a hub of expertise and innovation when it comes to growing fungi. As part of the EU, the Dutch also have some of the highest standards in the world when it comes to food safety and sustainable cultivation.

This environment allows us to grow mushrooms that meet the strictest purity standards in the world, including California Prop 65 and the European Food Safety Authority, in an environment that is friendlier to the planet.

Ultimately, cleaner mushrooms are more potent mushrooms, allowing you to get the full effect of the ingredients, and the best value for your money.

For us, purity isn’t just about being clean, it’s also about being potent. That’s why we use only whole fruiting bodies and complement them with powerful adaptogenic ingredients - all at clinically-effective dose levels.

That's why we use the most energy-efficient, planet-friendly growing and processing methods available. And why we’ve developed 100% plant-based recyclable / reusable cardboard tube packaging, along with compostable capsule pouches.
